I had only been to Lil Vinny’s once and it was awful, so I was excited to hear a bar with Greek inspired menu was replacing it. Daddy Jones just opened last month, but they have already gotten a positive review from the Phoenix. The place was crowded on a rainy Friday night, but Chucky managed to snag us the last table for two.
I had the Loukaniko sausage sandwich. It was served with roasted peppers, caramelized onions and tzatiki wrapped in a soft warm pita. I thought it was delicious and the generous pile of hand cut fries on the side made it a bargain at $9. Chucky had the grilled lamb skewers ($14), which was overcooked and chewy. I thought his rice pilaf was just okay. Had I known that my sandwich came with fries, we wouldn’t have ordered a side of them ($4), that said they were so good we polish them all off.
Chucky had a cocktail and a beer and enjoyed both. Our server was attentive and friendly. I think it’s a great addition to the neighborhood.
