Homemade Finishing Salts

Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. Last year I made homemade vanilla extract and it was a big hit. This year, I decided to make homemade finishing salts for gifts. I got 4oz tins from www.specialtybottle.com and created labels at www.myownlabels.com. 15 lbs of kosher salt made enough for over 108 tins. I created 2 flavors: rosemary citrus and chili lime. They are great for chicken, fish, veggies, potatoes, popcorn, even rimming a margarita! They are easy to make; the important part is to dry your zest, herbs and other flavorings completely. Just combine 1 tsp of flavoring to ¼ C of salt. There are a million fun flavor combinations you can try.
