The Pub, Somerville

It was Monday night after the blizzard ended and mountains of snow were everywhere. Steve and I met up with his friends Kerry and Bryan, as well and Charles for some dinner. Apparently they frequent the pub for the steak tips quite often. Yelp describes it as a “dive” and “packed with townies” and I would believe it, but on that Monday night it was empty, so I don’t think I can accurately report on the real vibe.

The food is basic and inexpensive; 3 out of 4 of us, including me, ordered the steak tips. The tips were surprisingly decent; it was a generous portion with good flavor and cooked to medium rare. Entrees come with a choice of salad, rice or fries. The salad is a typical iceberg/pale tomato/red onion affair. The fries and the onion rings were crispy and not at all greasy.
