Mj and I had lunch today at Pasta Market Cafe, a small oddly shaped building situated at a fork in the road in Malden. The menu is simple; everything you would expect a red sauce Italian cafe to offer. I had an eggplant parm sub, and it was quite good. I was surprised, given that the eggplant wasn't fried. It had a nice sauce and a good amount of cheese. I made sure to ask to have it toasted and that's exactly how it came. Mj's shrimp ravioli in scampi sauce was the winner, the shrimp flavor was pronounced and the pasta was tender. The prices are very affordable, even at dinner most entrees were under $15.
The restaurant is owned by the same family behind Maria's Gourmet Pasta, in fact their kitchen is right next door, so you can buy the pasta to take home.
