Tavern in the square, Cambridge (Central Sq.)

Another Tuesday night, another night at John Harvard’s? Nope, I was saved from the monotony of wings (no sauce) and fries (with mayo) when we decided to try the other Tavern in the Square (Central Sq., not Porter Sq.). The restaurant was crowded and loud when we walked in. Apparently Tuesday is Trivia night and it was packed (plus it didn’t help that we were a large table of 10). On a funny side note, Steve was at the Porter location the night before during their Trivia night, and they use the same questions and answers, so if you want to scam them out of the $40 first place prize, go to Porter on Monday, take notes and play on Tuesday at the Central Sq. location.

As for the food, I think 8 out of 10 of us got burgers. I got a cheddar cheeseburger with waffle fries. I love waffle fries. My burger was cooked to my preferred medium rare; although I think Bri’s was overcooked (he likes his meat to still be mooing). Service was fine, I think Nate only had to flag down the waiter twice for his insatiable need for diet Coke. I doubt we will ever be back, as the Porter location is quieter, without the trivia going on, but it’s a fine place to grab a late night bite.
