I think my friend Steve jinxed the Bolognese. I told him I was going to Sweet Basil and I was, of course, going to order their superb Bolognese. He said, “I don’t know, it might be a little on the heavy side for the summer.” Sadly, he was right. Don’t get me wrong, I still ordered it and still enjoyed with gusto, but I did have the thought that it would be even better in January with snow on the ground.
R had the Veal Marsala. I thought the sauce was a tiny bit too sweet; he loved it and did everything short of picking up the plate and licking it. Amy had the risotto, and it was unbelievable good. Justin’s goat cheese ravioli was well-liked by the table, but I’m not a big goat cheese fan, so I wouldn’t be the best judge.
Our wait was only 15 minutes (at 8:00pm on a Friday night, no less!) and the service was friendly as always.
