The reason to go to Chauncey Creek is the view. The restaurant is situated right on the water, and when the sun is shining, the water is glistening and there is a lobster in front of you ready to be eaten, the world is a happy place. They offer your basic lobster shack menu and it’s all good. We had an order of sweet, plump and briny steamers, excellent onion rings and shared a 3 pounder. My only complaint is that it was damn pricey ($17 a pound). Chauncey Creek is also BYOB and they welcome you to bring any food or drink they don’t serve. People will bring their own tablecloths, wine glasses, linens and even candlesticks to set the picnic tables, along with their alcohol.
As far as I’m concerned, summer isn’t complete without a trip to Chauncey Creek.
