So long, L’Espalier

This is from the Boston Globe last week in an article covering L’Espalier’s move from its’ beautiful Gloucester Street townhouse to a brand new space in the Mandarin hotel. It is the end of an era.

“Long known as a place to get engaged, L'Espalier sees about one proposal a month. That means upward of 300 marriages have been launched in the Gloucester Street townhouse occupied by the restaurant for the last 26 years.”

We are one of 300. On June 25th, 2002, R proposed during dessert. I'm sure it was a fantastic meal, but I couldn’t tell you a single thing we ate.
