Cafeteria, Boston

After successfully completing the Gobble X3 race, I was due for a little pampering. Mj and I had massages and facials at Spa Newbury the Saturday after Thanksgiving. After an exhausting three hours of relaxing, we needed lunch. We went to Cafeteria, which was just a couple blocks away. The concept is a “modern interpretation of classic American dishes,” i.e. upscale mac and cheese and such.

I got a Cubano (roast pork, ham, Swiss, pickles and mustard on a pressed baguette) and Mj got the lamb burger. I was pleasantly surprised by my sandwich; it was a tasty mélange of flavors. Mj really liked her burger too. Both sandwiches came with crispy Parmesan fries.

The prices are what you would expect for Newbury St; $11.50 and $13.25 respectively and our service was good. I think it’s a fine place to stop and grab a quick lunch if you are in the area.
